JUNIORS PLAYING IN HIGHER AGE GROUP
NWMCA Clubs
Playing in a HIGHER age group
The general rules about playing in a HIGHER age group, including open age, are as follows:
1. For a person to be eligible to play in a grade which is nominated as 'Under' a certain age, they must not turn that age prior to the first day of September in the current season.
2. Junior players are not allowed to play or substitute in a Saturday morning competition two age groups above their eligible age group.
3. Junior players must be 13 years of age at 1st September in order to compete in any grade of senior cricket. In default a $20 fine will be incurred and loss of 6 points. Exemptions to this rule may be granted in exceptional circumstances and will be dealt with, upon application to the Board, on a case by case basis.
Clubs must have a higher age group form completed, signed and witnessed prior to the game commencing.
The relevant form is attached and on the NWMCA website - >Association >Forms
Please note that the club must hold the form, and that the form only applies to the current season.
Higher age forms need to be renewed each year.
Playing in a LOWER age group than that which the player qualifies
The Board and Junior committee will consider applications for a player to play in a LOWER grade than that for which they are eligible.
